Dr. Jozef Krop is arguably the grandfather of medical saunas in North America. His lectures on sweating chronically ill patients back to better health led to other doctors experimenting with induced sweat as therapy and eventually spread through the community of doctors practicing environmental medicine in the 1990s. Now called by many names including functional medicine, complimentary medicine, or alternative medicine. Inducing a sweat is now understood to be a key modality in detoxifying a chronically ill patient. Dr. Krop’s book “Healing the Planet” is over 20 years old but more relevant now than ever.
